Oahu is 44 miles long, 30 miles wide, 112 miles around and is the third-largest island in the Hawaiian chain of 132 islets, atolls and reefs stretching from kure atoll in the northwest to the big island of Hawaii in the southeast.

Hawaii is the most isolated population center on Earth. It is 2,390 miles (3,846 km) from California, 3,850 miles (6,196 km) from Japan and 4,900 miles (7,886 km) from China.

Oahu is called "the gathering place" because it's the most populated island in Hawaii and it draws millions of tourists.

The North Shore of Oahu encompasses the 17-mile north-facing coastal area between Ka’ena Point in the west and eastward to Kahuku Point. Famous for its surfing, snorkeling, and of course the fifty-one beaches that stretch for more than 11 miles along this incredible expanse of Oahu coastline.
